Head-Royce School in Oakland, California, hosts a highly competitive robotics program known as the RoboHawks (8K teams), which has consistently competed in the VEX Robotics Competition and the VEX World Championship since 2013. Founded in 2010, the program supports multiple Upper and Middle school teams, often spending 300 hours per season to focus on STEM, engineering, design, and teamwork.
As of now, 4 teams (8000B, C, J, and X) compete with a total of around 25 students
Achievements: 2014 VEX World Championship Finalist (2nd in the world), multiple Northern California State Championship wins, and consistent qualification for the World Championship.
