I’m completing my Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechatronics at Flinders University, where I specialize in electromechanical systems integration and control theory. My approach to robot design emphasizes modularity, maintainability, and precision manufacturing. I’ve developed expertise in advanced fabrication techniques including CNC machining, sheet metal forming, and composites work through both coursework and my part-time position at a local makerspace. Last season, I pioneered a novel transmission design that improved our robot’s power efficiency by 24%, which has since been adopted by several other teams in the region. My senior design project involves developing a robotic system for agricultural automation, and I apply lessons learned from competition robotics to real-world engineering challenges. I’m also passionate about documentation and knowledge sharing—I maintain detailed build logs and CAD libraries that I share with the VEX U community. Outside the workshop, I volunteer with FIRST Australia to expand robotics programs in rural communities. My career objective is to work in advanced manufacturing and robotics, particularly in sectors like mining automation or aerospace, where Australia has significant industry presence. I believe hands-on competition experience is invaluable preparation for tackling complex engineering problems. #
